Lawrence Lodge of Royal Ark Mariners. No. 313
Installation Meeting. Weds 17th November 2021. Chorley Masonic Hall

Started the trip to Chorley from this morning’s meeting at Westhoughton, it didn’t take very long and once again the sat nav guided me straight to the car park where I have been several times before, what a deal £1 for 3 hours then Free after 5 o’clock, now that’s more like it.
Chorley Masonic Hall
Entered the Hall and before too long 3 wheels on my wagon (Ernie) arrived in his chauffer driven car, today only (by the PGM) now tell me where you could find another Province where the PGM drives his Tyler around (only kidding) and after unloading we all sat together along with the Asst PGM Giles and another couple of Mark Men with a nice cup of coffee / tea and had a very pleasant good old chin wag.

Eventually as members of the Lodge and the Prov Team arrived it was time for the Lodge to open, the usual housekeeping was carried out, approving the minutes, communications, a Dispensation was read and W.Bro. Richard Higson was Declared as Worshipful Commander for the ensuing year.
A shared joke
The knocks were given on the door and the Lodge was pleased to receive the Prov Grand Master Bro. Keith Alan Beardmore R.A.M.G.R. accompanied by Grand and Acting Provincial Grand Officers. The W. Commander offered the gavel to the PGM which he said that on this occasion he would be pleased to accept it for a short while so that he could introduce members of the Team. This done the Lodge grew silent in respect to recently departed members, W.Bro. Neil Emmett PrRAMGR and W. Bro. Reynell Morris.
Just chilling out
W.Bro. Richard Harry Higson W.C. was proclaimed as Worshipful Commander for the ensuing year, most of the officers currently in post were confirmed as such, the DC and the Charity Steward were appointed and invested. Two Auditors were elected, the accounts for 2019 / 20 /21 were considered, a Charity collection was taken, notices and propositions were received and that was it the meeting was closed in good order.
The Lodge Room is Ready
Following the usual photo session everyone made their way to the dining room and after getting some liquid refreshment took up their seats for the Festive Board. A fine meal was served by some excellent friendly staff, then it was time for the usual Toasts and Responses which were all well received. (including a good story from the PGM)
Lets Practise
Everyone said their goodbyes before stepping out into the chilly night air and I’m sure that like me they looked back on what had been a really pleasant evening and looking forward to the next one.
